It’s an old town and its university placement reminds me of eastern Washington university for some reason.
I think it’s because of how far they both are from the main cities of Amsterdam and Seattle.
We went to the African studies center
The people there talked about how Africa wasn’t all just ‘elephants and diomonds’
It didn’t feel the greatest seeing all white people talk about their book exchange program not doing much for the local communities they get from.
I would have appreciated it more if there was more equalized cultural exchange.
Rather than getting books from small villages to put in their institution.
I do know it helps African descendants and educators in The Netherlands though which I appreciate.
